Annwyl Gydweithredwr,

Gwyddom fod gan Gymru ymchwil ac arloesedd rhagorol ar draws amrywiaeth eang o sefydliadau, yn cynnwys diwydiant, y sector elusennol, y celfyddydau ac academia…a hoffem weithio ag eraill i godi llais yn ei gylch!

Mae medalau a gwobrau o fri Cymdeithas Ddysgedig Cymru wedi’u llunio i ddathlu unigolion a thimau sydd â chysylltiad â Chymru. Gofynnwn am eich cymorth i rannu’r neges gyda chymaint o bobl â phosibl.

Rydym yn awyddus i glywed am bobl sy’n haeddu cydnabyddiaeth am ddylanwad eu gwaith ar ymchwil ar arloesi.

Beth allwch chi ei wneud?

  • Rhannu’r wybodaeth hon ar draws eich tîm a/neu yn ehangach yn eich cylchlythyrau neu i sefydliadau rydych yn gweithio â hwy er mwyn ein helpu i roi’r neges ar led!
  • Enwebu rhywun!  Mae’n syml: yr unig beth sydd angen i chi ei wneud yw llenwi ffurflen fer, gwneud yn siŵr bod yr unigolyn/tîm rydych yn ei enwebu yn iawn gyda hyn.  Os bydd eich enwebai’n ennill, cewch wahoddiad i ymuno ag ef yn y seremoni fedalau a gwobrau yn ddiweddarach eleni.
  • Noddi medal neu wobr: Dyfernir yr enillwyr mewn seremoni fawreddog bob blwyddyn – a gynhelir yn aml yn y Senedd ym Mae Caerdydd.  Gall noddwyr atodi eu henwau i ddwy fedal/gwobr neu fwy a chael y gydnabyddiaeth a ddaw o’u cefnogaeth ariannol.

Bydd pob enillydd yn derbyn medal neu wobr unigryw o ansawdd. Mae rhai medalau’n cynnwys gwobr ariannol.  Mae enillwyr blaenorol wedi dweud wrthym bod y clod a’r gydnabyddiaeth amlwg a ddaw yn ei sgil wedi bod o fudd i’w gyrfaoedd.

Mae’r daflen ffeithiau sydd ynghlwm yn rhoi trosolwg o’r medalau a gwobrau – mae croeso i chi ei rhannu.  Mae rhagor o wybodaeth i’w chael ar ein gwefan, yma: Medalau a Gwobrau – Cymdeithas Ddysgedig Cymru

Dear Colleague,

We all know that Wales can boast fantastic research and innovation across a wide range of organisations, including industry, the charitable sector, the arts and academia ….and we want to work with others to shout about it!

The prestigious Learned Society of Wales medals and awards are designed to celebrate individuals and teams that have a connection with Wales. We are asking for your help to spread the word with as many people as possible.

We want to hear about people who deserve recognition for the impact of their work in research and innovation.

What can you do?

  • Share this information across your team and/or wider in your newsletters or to organisations you work with to help us spread the word!
  • Nominate someone!  It couldn’t be easier: just fill in a short form, make sure the person/team you’re nominating are ok with it and find one person to write a reference.  If your nominee wins, you’ll be invited to join them at the medals and awards ceremony later this year.
  • Sponsor a medal or award: The winners are awarded at a high-profile ceremony each year – often at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay.  Sponsors can attach their names to two or more medals/awards and receive the recognition that their financial support will bring.

Each winner will receive a high quality and bespoke medal or award. Some medals are accompanied by a cash prize.  Past winners have told us that the accolade and the prominent recognition it brings has benefitted their careers.

The attached fact sheet give an overview of the medals and awards – please feel free to share them.  You can find out more via our website here: Medals and Awards – The Learned Society of Wales

If you would like to discuss anything further with a member of the LSW team, please contact us on:  medals@lsw.wales.ac.uk
