Volunteering

Are you interested in volunteering or recruiting volunteers?

Our priority is supporting volunteering, ensuring good quality, inclusive and accessible opportunities can be entered into by increasing numbers of people from a diversity of backgrounds. We will promote volunteering enabling its contribution to the quality of life of volunteers themselves and the people, communities and organisations they support, as well as the level and range of skills in the local economy, to be recognised and valued.

Useful information

We also offer opportunities to 14-25 year olds in the form of our Youth Led Grant Panel, who meet regularly and decide which youth-based projects to award a £4000 grant to, as well as receiving further training. If you know a young person who may be interested please contact us.

We are currently recruiting for the 2018/2019 and subsequent 2019/2020 panel – please email [email protected] if you are interested!

Additionally, if you are a youth-based project that is looking for further funding you are welcome to apply for the £4000 grant.

There is a lot of useful guidance, information and advice on best practice in volunteering on our website – with several free information sheets to download. Simply click on the ‘Volunteers’ link. Topics include: Safeguarding, Health and Safety, and Equality and Diversity – and many more.

Do you want to volunteer in Cardiff?

The Cardiff Volunteer Centre @ C3SC (Cardiff Third Sector Council) is run by the community, for the community. The Centre acts as a central hub where anyone in Cardiff can find out about volunteering opportunities. We help people who want to volunteer and organisations recruiting volunteers to find the right opportunities.

C3SC is here to help you volunteer in your local community. We have hundreds of different volunteering opportunities with charities, community groups and statutory organisations across the capital. If you want to give back whilst being part of a movement to make a difference then we’re here to help.

There are two ways to access our service:

Online

C3SC volunteering opportunities can be found on the Volunteering Wales website. You can search for available volunteering roles by entering your postcode and giving the distance from your home you are prepared to travel. You can use the ‘Advanced Search’ option to define what type of volunteering you are interested in.
