The team at Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) are pleased to announce the return of the annual Cardiff Volunteer Awards. C3SC is the city’s local charity supporting volunteers and voluntary services, and the Awards is one of our programmes of events which celebrate the incredible positive differences people and groups have made across our communities through volunteering. Now in its eighth year, this annual flagship event allows us the privilege of highlighting many acts of kindness that take place in our diverse local communities, and the genuine differences volunteering makes in people’s lives.
This year’s event will take place from 4:00 pm on Wednesday 2 December 2026 in person at the Coal Exchange Hotel, Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff CF10 5FQ and will be streamed online. We had the pleasure at last year’s event of welcoming over 200 people, and this year we are delighted to have Wales & West Housing join us again as lead event sponsor for this year’s ceremony, along with the other organisations who have kindly supported this year’s awards – Centregreat, The Open University in Wales and Orbits IT – for what we anticipate will be another great success as the Awards continue to grow year on year.
Sheila Hendrickson-Brown, CEO of C3SC said, ‘With hundreds of people every year in Cardiff giving their time freely to volunteer, we hope volunteers, voluntary groups, supporters and funders will join with us to show our appreciation to the community of volunteers across Cardiff who make such positive differences – the Awards offer a fabulous chance to celebrate their huge contribution to wellbeing, inclusion and connection in Cardiff.’
Awara Rasul, Winner of the Outstanding Community Volunteer category in recognition of his commitment to volunteering for over 21 years said, ‘Winning the Outstanding Community Volunteer award at last year’s 2025 Cardiff Volunteer Awards was an incredibly humbling and emotional experience. To have the countless hours of community work formally recognised by the city was completely unexpected, and it truly validated everything our team strives to achieve. More than anything, the award has given us a wonderful platform to raise awareness of our cause and has inspired so many others to step forward and get involved in volunteering this year.’
The awards ceremony will begin with networking and refreshments and a chance to meet and welcome our nominees and guests and will be followed by our Ceremony and announcement of the nominees and winners in a range of categories that shine a light on the diversity of volunteering activity taking place across Wales’s capital city.
