We’re pleased to announce that 5 Cardiff-based third sector organisations have been awarded funding through the Women’s Health Matters project, a community engagement initiative led by Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) and funded by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (C&V UHB).
The funded organisations are Cardiff People First, Afghan Cymru Connect, Bangladeshi Women’s Association of Wales, Justice, Inclusion, and Support Team (JIST CYMRU CIC), and the Kurdish All Wales Association.
The project will engage women and girls across Cardiff to better understand their experiences of health services, their health needs, and their preferences for how services are communicated and delivered. The organisations will also identify gaps in current provision and barriers to accessing services, helping to develop targeted, community-led solutions. A further aim is to improve awareness of and engagement with the Women’s Health Plan for Wales among women, girls, and the organisations that support them.
The project will run until October 2026. Findings gathered through the community engagement activities will be collated into a report and shared with the C&V UHB Women’s Health Steering Group to help inform the delivery of the Women’s Health Plan for Wales. All participating organisations will receive a copy of the report and will be invited to take part in further discussions and future developments arising from the project.
