Windrush Day 2019 – Funding

Introduction:

An additional £5,000 has been provided to each of the eight Community Cohesion regions across Wales. This funding is for distribution to BAME third sector organisations and community groups to celebrate and commemorate Windrush Day on the 22nd of June, 2019.

It is important to mark the important contribution that the Windrush generation made to the history, economy and culture of Wales. This funding will help provide an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the experiences and contributions to Welsh life.

Applications are welcomed for events/activity at a local (within the Community Cohesion region – Cardiff & Vale of Glamorgan), or cross-region and pan Wales basis.

This fund which will be administered by the Regional Community Cohesion Co-ordinators. Applications from North West Wales will be handled by Siân Sanders, Regional Community Cohesion Co-ordinator for Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan.

If, by the 18th of April, it appears unlikely that any organisations are interested in holding an event/activity in a specific region, the funding will be re-allocated to another region or for cross-region/pan Wales proposals.

Please note, groups can only have one funded event/activity, however, can be part of applications made by other organisations.

Application forms should be sent via email to: [email protected] no later than 5pm on Thursday 18th April. Any late applications must be by exception and will only be considered at the discretion of the designated responsible officer.

To be eligible to apply, the applicant must be an established voluntary organisation or community group and have a bank or building society account in the name of the organisation, or have a host organisation willing to accept the funds on their behalf (payments will not be made to individuals). Applications from individuals or Public Services will not be accepted.

Assessing Applications: Applications will be considered using the following criteria:-

  • Activities which will specifically raise awareness and celebrate/commemorate Windrush Day 2019.
  • The ability to meet at least one of the following objectives:-
    • Explain to communities what Windrush Day is
    • Promote positive messages regarding Windrush Day
    • Promote awareness of the Historical, Economic and Cultural content of the Windrush generation to Communities
    • Have an Educational aspect relating to Windrush
    • Involve Windrush elders
  • Reasonable costs for activity / value for money

Note: Organisations must keep records and retain receipts and invoices in relation to monies spent in order to allow access to these by the relevant local authorities internal or external auditors should it be required.

What happens next: You will be notified of the outcome of your application by email no later than 30th April 2019.

Successful Applications: You will be required to submit a brief project completion report with your project invoice and accompanying receipts no later than 31st July 2019. Payment will be made in arrears.

Mae’n bwysig nodi cyfraniad cenhedlaeth ‘Windrush’ i hanes, economi a diwylliant Cymru. Bydd yr arian yma yn helpu i roi cyfle i bawb ddathlu cyfraniadau ‘Windrush’ i fywyd Cymru.

Croesewir ceisiadau am ddigwyddiadau / gweithgareddau o fewn y rhanbarth Cydlyniant Cymunedol, a thraws-ranbarth a Chymru gyfan.

Gweinyddir y gronfa hon gan y Cydlynwyr Cydlyniant Cymunedol Rhanbarthol. Derbynnir ceisiadau yng Nghaerdydd a Bro Morgannwg gan Siân Sanders, Cydlynydd Cydlyniant Cymunedol Rhanbarthol.

Os yw’n ymddangos yn annhebygol, erbyn y 18fed o Ebrill, fod sefydliadau ddim gyda diddordeb mewn cynnal digwyddiad / gweithgaredd mewn rhanbarth penodol, bydd yr arian yn cael ei ailddyrannu i ranbarth arall neu ar gyfer cynigion traws-ranbarthol / Cymru gyfan.

Dylid anfon ffurflenni cais drwy e-bost er sylw: [email protected] erbyn 5yh ddydd Iau, 18fed o Ebrill fan bellaf. Rhaid i unrhyw geisiadau hwyr fod yn eithriad a dim ond yn ôl disgresiwn y swyddog cyfrifol dynodedig y caiff ei ystyried.

I fod yn gymwys i wneud cais, rhaid i’r ymgeisydd fod yn sefydliad gwirfoddol sefydledig neu’n grŵp cymunedol gyda chyfrif banc neu gymdeithas adeiladu yn enw’r sefydliad,neu fod â chytundeb gyda sefydliad arall sy’n barod i dderbyn yr arian ar eu rhan (ni fydd modd gwneud taliadau i unigolion). Ni dderbynnir ceisiadau gan unigolion neu Wasanaethau Cyhoeddus.

Asesu Ceisiadau: Ystyrir ceisiadau gan ddefnyddio’r meini prawf canlynol:-

  • Gweithgareddau a fydd yn codi ymwybyddiaeth yn benodol ac yn dathlu / coffáu Diwrnod ‘Windrush’ 2019.
  • Y gallu i fodloni o leiaf un o’r amcanion canlynol:-
    • Esbonio i gymunedau beth yw Diwrnod ‘Windrush’;
    • Hyrwyddo negeseuon cadarnhaol ynglŷn â Diwrnod ‘Windrush’;
    • Hyrwyddo ymwybyddiaeth o gynnwys Hanesyddol, Economaidd a Diwylliannol cenhedlaeth ‘Windrush’ i Gymunedau;
    • Agwedd Addysgol yn ymwneud â ‘Windrush’;
    • Cynnwys henuriaid ‘Windrush’;
  • Costau rhesymol ar gyfer gweithgareddau / gwerth am arian.

Sylwer: Rhaid i sefydliadau gadw cofnodion a chadw derbynebau ac anfonebau mewn perthynas ag arian a wariwyd er mwyn caniatáu i archwilwyr mewnol neu allanol perthnasol yr awdurdodau lleol gael mynediad at y rhain os bydd angen.
