UpRising is a UK-wide youth leadership development organisation and they are proud to now be launching in to Wales in October 2015, basing themselves in Cardiff and the Vale.
UpRising’s mission is to open pathways to power for talented young people from diverse and under-represented backgrounds. Working primarily with 19-25 year olds, UpRising equips them with the skills, knowledge, networks and power to become the leaders of tomorrow. In the past year alone they have supported over two thousand young people through programmes which operate in seven cities across the UK.
The flagship programme is a FREE six-month leadership programme providing ‘access behind the scenes’ training sessions with some of the UK’s most senior leaders across the political, private, public and not for profit sectors. Each participant is individually matched with a coach and a mentor to support them throughout their time on the programme. They also work with other UpRisers to design and deliver a social action campaign on a local issue they are passionate about.
We are looking for young people who live, work or study in Cardiff and the Vale and who want to make a difference in their local communities.
Applications for young people aged 19-25 are now open and the deadline date is the 5th October.
