Police Carriage of Naloxone
South Wales Police has equipped one in five officers (756 staff members) with naloxone, administering it 134 times since June 2019. The force now represents nearly 10% of all trained officers carrying naloxone across England and Wales.
The UK-wide evaluation of police naloxone carriage highlights increasing adoption, with 32 police forces implementing the initiative. This supports national harm reduction efforts and aligns with recommendations from the NPCC and Home Office.
