Health and Care Research Wales continues to drive important developments in research and professional opportunities. A recent study has highlighted the benefits of a pre-paid card scheme for individuals with coeliac disease, demonstrating its positive impact.

Applications remain open for Specialty Lead positions in Cardiovascular, Hepatology, Palliative Care, and Public Health, with a deadline of 19 May 2025. The Welsh Stroke Conference will take place on 19–20 June in Cardiff, alongside the #Red4Research 2025 initiative on 20 June.

Funding opportunities include the Integrated Funding Scheme focused on communication in women’s health and the Panel Y Ddraig Grant Scheme supporting innovation in Powys. Submissions are now open for the 2025 NHS Wales Awards.
