Tour de France 2027 Volunteering Update

The JOY Maker Volunteer programme are looking to recruit 9,000 volunteers across the six stages of both the men’s and women’s Tour de France races in Wales. An important aspect of the programme is that they want to involve as many young people within the 16-25 age demographic as possible. The event is free to attend and is low commitment with volunteers only having to sign up for one day of the event.

Another really important element of the programme is that they are striving to make it an accessible opportunity for all with steps in place during the application process to make this easier – Easy read applications, Easy read information documents online and steps within the process to allow people to request support and highlight any accessibility needs.

Applications are open until the 1st of September 2026, more details can be found: Become a JOY Maker! | Grand Départ GB 2027.

As part of JOY Makers, they have another opportunity for young people aged 18-25, our Readiness to Work programme. Readiness to Work is an employability programme combining core employability skills training and sector-specific mentoring, alongside their day of volunteering. This offer is designed to support young people to develop key skills, gain meaningful experience, and take the next steps on towards employment. To apply, a young person will need to apply to be a JOY Maker and the application for Readiness to Work is embedded within. Here is the website for more details and how to apply: Readiness to Work | Grand Départ GB 2027

I’ve attached promotional assets and a press release to support you in sharing these opportunities through your external networks and internal communications. I’ve also included a draft email and images that you may find useful.
