People and organisations achieving great things in sustainable development are being invited to enter the first ever Sustain Wales Awards.
Many people and organisations in Wales are doing great things under the umbrella of sustainable development. It is the intention of Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales to highlight this, to praise the achievements and showcase good practice.
Peter Davies, Commissioner for Sustainable Futures, said “I am pleased to see recognition for the work done by individuals, organisations and communities in this field. It is important that we share what people are doing and thank those that are leading the way in improving Wales for future generations. I hope the Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales’ Awards will be a great success.”
Through the Awards Cynnal Cymru seek out and praise the best examples of their kind, cross-sector, across Wales. Applications are welcomed from people and organisations, the community and businesses, local authorities and other tiers of government.
The first Awards ceremony, held in the Wales Millennium Centre on the 19th November 2015, will be a great event in the Welsh calendar. Celebrating much of the work Cynnal Cymru has worked towards over the last 12 years, Derek Osborn, Cynnal Cymru-Sustain Wales Chair said “It is an exciting time for Cynnal Cymru with the opening of the awards for nomination this week and the recent launch of our new membership offer. We invite everyone concerned with building a sustainable future for Wales to join us on this journey, Become a member. Apply for an award.”
