Public Health Wales is currently conducting a qualitative research study, Perceptions of Smoking, Health, and Cessation in Older Adulthood, which explores the experiences and views of adults aged 55–74 who smoke or have quit smoking in the last five years.

About the Study
We are inviting adults aged 55–74 living in Wales who currently smoke or have quit within the last five years to take part in a focus group. The study aims to better understand:
- Experiences of smoking in later life
- Views on health and wellbeing
- Social influences
- Thoughts on stop smoking support
- Preferences for how services contact them
- Views on lung cancer screening
A full Participant Information Sheet and consent form will be provided to those expressing interest. This study has received a favourable ethical opinion from the Cardiff University School of Social Sciences Research Ethics Committee (SREC), reference 850.
