Please find attached the latest briefing and press release from the Welsh NHS Confederation, the national membership body representing all the organisations making up the NHS in Wales.

The briefing highlights examples of initiatives taking place across the NHS in Wales to develop primary and community care services and support integration.

Examples within the briefing include:

·       The one-stop diagnostic service at the Grange University Hospital in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

·       Dental Academy opening in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, which aims to tackle shortage of NHS dentists.

·       Cardiff and Vale University Health Board opens the UK’s first syndrome without a name clinic (SWAN).

·       Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board awarded funding by Moondance Cancer Initiative to improve cancer outcomes.

·       Choose Pharmacy’s Sore Throat Test and Treat service, the digital infrastructure developed by Digital Health and Care Wales, boosts infection screening.

·       Health Education and Improvement Wales launches a new recruitment initiative aimed at encouraging future dental trainees to take up opportunities across rural Wales.

·       Respiratory Innovation Wales bus provides Lung Cancer Symptom Assessment Line service across Hywel Dda University Health Board.

·       New digital support for people seeking help with alcohol and substance use available in Powys Teaching Health Board.

·       Public Health Wales NHS Trust implement a new Cervical Screening Information Management System.

·       Swansea Bay University Health Board becomes the first area in the UK to use Consultant Connect in dentistry.

·       Velindre University NHS Trust launches artificial intelligence chatbot to support patients, their loved ones and members of the public.

·       Advanced Paramedic Practitioners in the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust leads to fewer people needing to be taken to emergency departments.
