The aims of this  WCVA course are to:

To provide a practical guide to developing and implementing a safeguarding policy for working with any vulnerable group – children, young people and adults

To consider how a safeguarding policy can complement and fit within an overarching organisational policy framework

This course will help you draft an outline safeguarding policy specific to your own organisation. If you already have a safeguarding policy, this is an opportunity to review, update and share good practice.

Although a standalone course, it will make reference to parts of the safeguarding self assessment tool which is covered in full in Assessing Safeguarding within your organisation.

You will look at what your organisation should do to support safeguarding when working with any vulnerable group: children, young people or adults. By the end of the course you will have a plan to take back to your organisation to form the basis of safeguarding as part of good governance.
