CCHA Lift Programme Partner launch event

9th May 2014 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Welsh Government has launched the Lift programme to tackle workless households. The project will cover the east of Cardiff – Llanrumney, Llanederyn, Rumney, St Mellons, Trowbridge & Pentwyn.

Lift is an ambitious Welsh Government programme to provide, by the end of 2017, 5,000 training and employment opportunities for people living in households where no-one is in work.

The programme is not aimed at those who are temporarily out of work but will focus on those who have spent more than six months out of work or training and who face barriers to becoming employable, such as young single parents, adults with few or no formal qualifications; people with poor employment records and individuals with disabilities. Research shows that people in households with these characteristics are much less likely to gain employment than others.

Launch event

The event will take place on Friday 9 May from 10am to 1pm at CCHA, Tolven Court, Cardiff CF24 5QL. There will be a buffet at 12:00. Please email the address below to reserve your place and mention any dietary requirements. Please reserve your place by 1st May; places are limited.
