Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2022 – Volunteer Group of the Year Winner: CREW

We would like to highlight CREW for winning the Volunteer Group of the Year Award at the Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2022.

The volunteers have lived-in experience of mental health. CREW are fortunate to have a team of 25 volunteers. Volunteers have been invaluable in the last 6 years with both practical and emotional support to service users who have been referred to the service. The volunteers run activity groups such as craft, co-facilitate mental health workshops, run walking groups, contribute to and edit Newsletters for the service and carry out administration tasks. Volunteers also provide 1-to-1 support such as assisting with attending appointments, working with people, developing friendships and social relationships with other service users and increasing independent skills such as using public transport.

The volunteers at Ty Canna are truly inspirational and provide hope to new service users coming into the service. They provide a can-do attitude and encourage individuals to achieve their goals.

Thank you so much for all your hard work in supporting your local community.
