The Dementia Learning & Development Team have created a ‘Read About Me’ booklet that asks for specific information about a person and their life. When a person is in hospital the ‘Read About Me’ booklet should be kept in their end of bed notes, so that it can be easily accessed by all staff. Read About Me booklets can help staff to have a deeper understanding of the people that care for. Read About Me is for people who are experiencing communication difficulties, this could be due to Dementia, delirium, post-op confusion, Parkinson’s etc.
