Action On Hearing Loss Focus Group And Survey
Action on Hearing Loss Cymru, in partnership with NDCS Cymru, has recently received funding from the Welsh Government to produce national guidance for local authorities to help them meet the requirements of Social Services and Wellbeing Act for people who are deaf or have hearing loss. Once completed, it is anticipated that this guidance will become an official Welsh Government document. We’re hopeful that this guidance will help make the case for increased investment in sensory services and also demonstrate the value of sensory equipment in terms of helping people who deaf or have hearing loss stay healthy and remain independent.
To support the development of this guidance, we’ve recently launched a survey to gather evidence on key issues facing people who are deaf or have hearing loss who need social care and support. We’re also hoping to host focus groups in April (both face-to-face and online) to help people who are deaf or have hearing loss share their views on how services could be best meet their needs. Participants in the face-to-face group at our Cardiff office in April will be given £10 and travel expenses will be paid.
Any support you could provide in terms of promoting these research opportunities to members and supporters of Cardiff Third Sector Council would be much appreciated! For example, if you would be willing to post about our research on your social media accounts that would be wonderful (I can provide copy for this in Welsh and English, if that would be helpful). Links to our surveys are below. Printable and Welsh language versions of the surveys are also available on request.
