Citizen Advice Bureau Carer Support Fund

Citizens Advice Cardiff and Vale has announced a Carers Support Fund, delivering free advice, income maximisation, and direct financial relief to unpaid carers across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan through 31 March 2029.

 

How the fund can help Unpaid Carers

Unpaid carers frequently experience financial hardship, isolation, and challenges navigating support systems. The project provides:

  • Comprehensive Advice: Tailored guidance on welfare benefits, debt management, housing, employment rights, immigration and more.
  • Income Maximisation:In-depth benefit checks, form-filling support, mandatory reconsiderations, and appeal help.
  • Discretionary Financial Grants: Direct support of up to £100 per carer to cover essential costs such as food, energy bills, household items, and white goods.
  • Seamless Referrals:Coordinated onward referrals to specialist support, including Care & Repair and Carers Wales.

Carers can access support via the following:
