Safer Places Partnership Fund – Applications Now Open

The next tranche of the Safer Places Partnership Fund for Cardiff, to support locally designed responses to crime, violence and community harm, is now open.

The fund, which consists of a £1 million investment from the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, will operate throughout 2026-2028 and is focused on the 32 identified higher-harm locations across South Wales, including 17 locations in Cardiff. Funding is available for initiatives that address issues such as: Violence, Knife crime, Anti-social behaviour, Retail crime, The safety of women and girls in public spaces, Child criminal exploitation.

To support the Cardiff application process, an application form has been developed to provide a clear and consistent approach to capturing proposals. The application form can be completed at: Safer Places Partnership Fund – Round 2 Application Form  – Fill in form

There are some restrictions to what can be funded. These restrictions are outlined on the application form, above. Please note that this is the application process for Cardiff only; other Community Safety Partnerships may be managing this process differently.

Applications for the second tranche of Safer Places Partnership fund can be received until 30th September 2026. Applications will then be sifted and put forward to the PCC Panel which will decide what interventions are funded.

There will be drop-in sessions for partners who have questions about the application process. Invites to these sessions will be circulated shortly and are planned for:

  • Friday 21st August 11:00 – 12:00 
  • Wednesday 2nd September 14:00 – 15:00
  • Friday 25th September 10:00 – 11:00
