We are sharing the following message from Action in Caerau and Ely:

We’re excited to invite you to the BIG DIG OPEN DAY — a fun and fascinating community archaeology event hosted by ACE and Caer Heritage!

📅 Saturday, 27th June
🕚 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Trelai Park (just behind Cardiff West High School) (What Three Words: //cards.words.bound)

You are welcome to come to showcase your services or volunteer on the day supporting the event, refreshments will be provided and there will be lots of opportunities to speak to local people and share what you do. Last year 600 people attended the Open Day, this year we are aiming for bigger still, with all the Ely and Caerau Primary schools being involved. Please let us know if you are planning on joining us.

Come along and get hands-on with history! Whether you’re curious about local archaeology or just looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday outdoors, there’s something for everyone — families, local residents, and history enthusiasts alike.

You can expect:

  • Live archaeological digs
  • Activities for kids and families
  • Local history displays
  • A chance to meet the team and get involved!
  • Circus Skills
  • Field games run by schools

Best wishes,

The Caer Team
