The Volunteer Centre @ C3SC worked in partnership with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to set up and deliver a pilot volunteer scheme. The scheme aimed to develop and coordinate volunteer-led sessions in different health and community venues to promote the NHS Wales App and support people to access it. The scheme involved piloting a Community Champions approach to volunteering based at drop-in sessions at health sites and community venues to increase use of the App by increasing people’s awareness and helping them to access and use it. The pilot indicates the value of involving volunteers from a diversity of backgrounds and organising their attendance at relevant venues to increase people’s awareness of steps to help with managing their health.
