The Urdd is launching a programme of courses and qualifications that could help the young people of Wales develop the skills needed to succeed in the world of work.

UrddSgilio is suitable for anyone who wants to:

  • improve their numeracy / communication / digital skills
  • gain experience in the sports sector
  • improve the skills that will help you get a job

UrddSgilio are offering a series of taster sessions that will give an idea of what to expect when completing the courses, all in Welsh. They are virtual sessions lasting approximately 30 minutes for anyone between 16 and 25, and are free of charge.

What taster sessions are available?

Numeracy – 14 February at 4:30pm

A session showing how to compare mobile phone contracts to help you make the best choice.

Sports – 16 February at 4:30pm

A session showing how to deal with attitude and responsibilities as a sports leader.

Communication – 21 February at 4:30pm

A session that shows a few persuasive techniques to use day-to-day and in the workplace.

Employability – 23 February at 4:30pm

A session showing how to structure a CV and adapt it according to the requirements of the job.

Digital Literacy – 28 February at 4:30pm

A session showing how to use creative techniques to help you stand out when completing tasks digitally.

You can choose to complete the qualifications to obtain a certificate and have the full experience or complete the units that will offer the greatest benefit.  Experienced tutors from the Urdd’s Apprenticeship Department will be available to provide all the support needed to complete each course.
