As the pressures arising from the cost of living continue to increase, we are looking at ways to help residents with rising energy bills by supporting warm spaces for people struggling to afford the costs of heating their homes. We know that comparatively small amounts of money can make a big difference to small scale community-based support, so Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) working in partnership with Cardiff Council, will be administering a second round of the Warm Spaces Fund to support groups in venues well known to local communities – such as community centres, community venues, places of worship – to provide places for more people to meet, socialise, enjoy refreshments, receive advice and to stay warm, helping them to manage the increased costs of heating their homes.
Aim of the Programme
The Warm Spaces fund will be used to contribute to the cost of providing spaces for people to gather and stay warm to help offset the rising costs of heating their homes. The funding can be used for revenue costs only associated with these types of activities. It cannot be used for capital costs, for staff costs, for the payment of rent and cannot duplicate any existing funding.
How much can organisations apply for?
Organisations can apply for a maximum of £1,500 under the Warm Space programme. There is no minimum amount.
The fund will be open for applications from 19 December with a deadline for submission of 5pm on 16 January 2023. Please note, preference will be given to Groups who have not received funding from the first round of the Warm Spaces fund.
