The event is part of NextGen project funded by Big Lottery and delivered by Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel (SSAP) in partnership with Choice and Control Consortium (CCC). Usha Ladwa-Thomas is one of the team from CCC. The Next Gen Activists Change Programme utilises the lived experiences as strengths to the local activists and leaders from the BAME community who want to make a positive change to their communities and to act with power and authenticity. It is intended to empower and enable strong leadership skills for those who rarely get the opportunity for high quality training in leadership.

On this day, you will be joined by participants from the project and a few members from the community. This half day session will focus on hearing stories of change from three experienced BAME leaders and as partners with Welsh Government, in delivering this programme we have invited

  • Vaughan Gething AM (Health Minister& Social Care Minister)
  • Sanjiv Vedi – Experienced Activists and Civil Servant from the Welsh Government.
  • Gaynor Legall – Advocate for ethnic minority women and people across Wales. She’s worked as a local Cardiff councillor, on the board of Diverse Excellence Cymru, Bawso, Barnardos, Welsh Government and as Director of the Butetown History and Arts Centre.

Food and refreshments will be provided on the day.

Spaces are limited so book your ticket early.
