SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
RE: HEIW Digital Learning Resource – Shared Decision Making
Expressions of Interest are invited from social prescribing practitioners and educators to test a new digital learning resource developed by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW).
Shared Decision Making is central to the core philosophy of social prescribing. An underpinning area of competence that the Competence Framework for Social Prescribing Practitioners in Wales builds upon is “the ability to:
- work with a person to explicitly identify what is important and meaningful to them
- make a person’s priorities central to any discussion and focus on understanding them
- give non-judgemental support for a person’s aims and goals”
Volunteers are therefore invited to either:
- Test the delivery methodology as a facilitator of the SDM online resource, on behalf of social prescribing practitioner trainers. This will involve:

- Co-facilitation with a member of the SDM resource development team.
- Participation in delivery of 3 on-line lectures.
- The delivery will span 7 weeks, starting January 2025. Sessions will be delivered every two weeks for 6 weeks, with an additional optional lecture in week 7:

- 9.00am to 10.15am on 16th & 30th January and 13th February.
- NB: Learning material is already in place i.e. no preparation of learning material is required.

OR
- Test the subject content as a learner by actively participating in, and completing, the SDM online learning.

- Timescale as above.
- NB: as a learner there are approximately 3 additional hours of self-directed online learning.
- On successful completion, learners will receive CPD certification for their personal records.
