ICESCR Welsh Government Event Invitation

Welsh Government, in partnership with the Wales Human Rights Stakeholder group, invite you to attend an evidence session on economic, social and cultural rights in Wales. We want to hear from you about the issues that are impacting people in accessing their rights, including to an adequate standard of living, the right to health (physical and mental) and the right to education.

The evidence provided will be used to inform the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights on how Wales is progressing towards realising the rights set out in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).  

Date: 8th January 2025

Where: Online via zoom

Session 1 – 10am – 12pm – Rights relating to work and the workplace (articles 6-8), Rights relating to a standard of living, support for families and individuals (articles 9-11), Health (article 12) and Education (art 13 and 14). 

Session 2 – 1pm – 3pm – Supporting implementation of ICESCR (article 2), The equality framework – as it relates to ICESCR (article 3), supporting economic, social and cultural development (articles 1 and 15).
