Vale Centre for Voluntary Services (VCVS) and the Vale Volunteer Bureau (VVB) have officially merged to become GVS (Glamorgan Voluntary Services). Merger means one-stop shop for the Vale of Glamorgan.
VCVS supported voluntary groups and the VVB supported volunteers. The merger was a logical step for both organisations and this merger will deliver a more efficient service, providing a one-stop shop for the local voluntary sector.
Rachel Connor, GVS Chief Executive Officer stated:
“This is a really exciting time for GVS – the new organisation and all of the stakeholders from VVB and VCVS. The merger provides a great opportunity for GVS to build on the excellent work of its predecessors and over time to develop new and improved services for the Third Sector here in the Vale of Glamorgan.”
GVS is looking to build upon the successes of both organisations and ensure it contributes even more to a vibrant voluntary sector in the Vale of Glamorgan. If you are considering volunteering or your community groups might need support why not contact GVS for an informal chat?
The telephone systems for both Holton Road and the Enterprise Centre remain the same as does the websites and email addresses but the aim is for one website, one telephone number and one email domain to be operational from July 2015, if not before.
