January Events at Pedal Power – Resist the Urge to Hibernate!

As well as our usual cycling services, we’ve got a full calendar of events this January designed to get you out, about and socialising (often in our ‘Warm Space’ cafe).

Guitar Performances from RWCMD students (no need to book in advance)

Friday 12th, 19th and 26th January – 11.30-12.30, Cafe

Sit back and listen to these incredibly talented music students – different students each week to keep you interested!

Free Energy Advice Drop-in (no need to book in advance)

Thursday 18th January – 10am-3pm, Cafe

Perfect if you’re worried about staying on top of fuel bills or would just like some free advice on how to keep your home warm and cosy for less. Pop in and chat to the lovely people from Riverside Advice Centre, who will be here to help you. You may also get a free light bulb!

Lantern Making Workshop’s (no need to book in advance)

Friday 26th January – 12–3pm and Saturday 27th January – 10.30–1.30pm, Cafe

Come along and create a beautiful lantern ready for the evening Lantern Cycle Rides planned for the 16th and 24th February. Workshops will be run by Alice and Niki who many of you will know as they have run lots of similar workshops for us in the past.

National Hot Chocolate Day – Park Ride & Free Hot Chocolate!

Wednesday 31st January – 11.30am-1.30pm

Come and enjoy a gentle park ride followed by a guilt-free (and free!) hot chocolate. Ride will leave Pedal Power at 11.30am and then it’s back to our ‘Warm Space’ cafe for a free mug of hot chocolate. What’s not to love?

Ride is free to join and you can bring your own bike or hire one from us (normal member hire rates). Please book your bike in advance if hiring from us. Ride time will be around 1 hour in total.

Damo’s Non-Pub Quiz (no need to book in advance)

Wednesday 31st January – 1.30-2.30pm (and then the last Wednesday of every month), Cafe

Volunteer Damien (AKA Damo, AKO King of Quiz) will be running a fun, general quiz every last Wednesday of the month. The Pedal Power team can attest to his prowess because he runs a staff quiz at our team events – and they are always A LOT OF FUN!

A great way to socialise and you may learn a few new facts along the way.

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) – Free, Face to Face Advice/help Sessions (booking is essential)!

Wednesday 31st January, Pedal Power Office

Free, one to one sessions with Alice from the Riverside Advice Centre. Sessions will be held in a private office at Pedal Power. Pre-booking is essential – please either email [email protected] or call 02920 341 577 to book your place
