A request has been made for people to volunteer to help pilot an on-line spiritual care course aimed at health professionals and people involved in social prescribing. Details are as follows:
The project: Professors Linda Ross (University of South Wales, UK) and Wilfred McSherry (Staffordshire University, UK) have received funding to develop a high quality, interactive on-line spiritual care course for professionals such as nurses, midwives, allied health and social prescribing practitioners. This is in conjunction with the Royal College of Nursing and the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Federation. It aims to meet practitioner request for more education on spirituality and spiritual care.
Who: are you a social prescribing practitioner? This umbrella term includes community connectors, link worker, wellbeing coordinators etc. Do you want to learn more about spirituality and spiritual care?
What: Will you complete one or more modules (around 60-90 minutes per module) and tell us what you think by completing a short evaluation questionnaire?
When: September-October 2023
Benefits: You’ll get a digital certificate for each module you complete. You’ll be helping to ensure that the course meets social prescribing learning needs and is relevant across countries, cultures and disciplines.
How: If you’re interested please email linda.ross@southwales.ac.uk or w.mcsherry@staffs.ac.uk
