Diverse Cymru have update us on the Queens Baton Relay and the work that has been going into the preperation for the event. Here is what they had to say:
“We’re now selling raffle tickets in the Butetown Community Centre, with prizes of family tour boat tickets and Gourmet Burger Kitchen vouchers to be won (hopefully more prizes to follow!) It would be great if you could direct people to that!
We’ve had really positive meetings with Cardiff Council, and Commonwealth Games Wales who tell us we’ve managed to plan the biggest event in Wales! We’re getting through the paperwork now, and now getting into the details of the day and how it will work.
We have a full set of Batonbearers, which we will begin announcing in mid-August. We should soon have some posters and start making some noise about the event itself, and any help publicising and ideas on how to spread the word will be much appreciated.”
Looks like it’s shaping to be a great event!
