The Mental Health Clinical Board is currently undertaking a review of its services, supported by an independent organisation (36 Degrees). As part of this, a key area being explored is the experience of individuals who have needed hospital admission but were placed out of area due to a lack of available beds locally.
Caniad, the lived experience service for the Mental Health Clinical Board, is looking to understand how many people may have relevant experience and would be interested in contributing to a future engagement on this topic.
We are particularly keen to hear from:
- Individuals who have experience of being admitted to hospital and placed out of area
- Carers, family members, or loved ones who have supported someone through this
The aim of this work is to better understand the impact of out-of-area placements and to help shape improvements to services moving forward.
