Legal support project: Help with Transport Discrimination Claims

The Equality and Human Rights Commission wants to hear about disabled people and older people who have experienced discrimination, when using, or trying to use public transport in England and Wales.

Who can apply?

–      Advisors and solicitors on behalf of a client who is older or disabled

–      In limited circumstances we may be able to accept applications from individuals who are older or disabled

What is covered by the project?

Trains, trams, underground, buses, coaches, taxis, minicabs, hire vehicles, recovery vehicles, boats and ferries (land-based services only), booking and other communication with operators (by phone, online or in person), access to transport premises.

Examples of discrimination may include:

–      Harassment from transport drivers

–      Transport operators failing to make reasonable adjustments

–      Problems with booking systems

–      Cynhorwyr a chyfreithwyr ar ran cleient sydd yn hŷn neu’n anabl

–      Mewn amgylchiadau cyfyngedig effallai gallwn dderbyn ceisiadau gan unigolion sydd yn hŷn neu’n anabl

 

Beth a gynhwysir yn y prosiect hwn?

Trenau, tramiau, trenau tanddaearol, bysys, tacsis, minicab, cerbydau hurio, cerbydau achub, cychod a fferïau (gwasanaeth ar dir yn unig), neilltuo lle ac unrhyw gyfarthrebiadau arall â gweithredwyr (ar y ffôn, ar-lein neu’n bresennol), mynediad at eiddo trafnidiaeth.

Gallai gwahaniaethu gynnwys:

–      Aflonyddu gan yrrwyr cludo

–      Gweithredwyr tranfnidiaeth yn methu gwneud addasiadau rhesymol

–      Problemau gyda systemau neilltuo lle
