Living Wage Week has begun! You can join us in celebrating the new rates by downloading the below image and sharing it on social media using

Everything you need to know
Read our big Living Wage Week announcements in our press release here, including the news that together we have given over 200,000 people a pay rise, put £1billion back into the hands of low-paid workers and reached nearly 6000 Accredited Employers,  over 120 Recognised Service Providersand  50 Funders.
The Living Wage team would like to say a huge THANK YOU for voluntarily taking a stand against low pay and going further than the government minimum to ensure your employees can earn a real Living Wage for the real cost of living.

That basic fairness is at the heart of what our movement is trying to achieve. Your continued leadership has made sure workers can earn a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

Now the new rates have been announced, we ask all Living Wage employers to inform staff within one month and implement the increase as soon as possible but within six months (by May 2020).

The new rates apply to all staff and subcontracted workers aged over 18. The links below are some helpful resources to help you communicate this change.

These resources will help you to communicate this change with both your staff and third party contractors

Do you know the difference?
It makes a huge difference to peoples lives, watch our video below…

Help us highlight the difference between the real Living Wage and governments minimum. Here’s a reminder:

  • The real Living Wage is independently-calculated based on what employees and their families need to live.
  • That’s why it is higher than the government minimum wage.
  •  Employers voluntarily choose to pay it – changing people’s lives right now.
  • The real Living Wage includes a separate rate that reflects the higher costs of living in London.
  • It applies to all workers over 18 – in recognition that young people face the same living costs as everyone else.

Keep an eye out this week for…
As well as plenty of digital content, we’ve got our logo popping up in lots of places this year. So when you’re out and about, keep an eye out for posters across the London Underground and in Central Birmingham, and a National Express coach and bus. Tweet us if you spot our logo when out and about!

From all the team this Living Wage Week, we hope you enjoy the celebrations and thank you for your commitment and support.
