The Prince’s Trust has been going through a radical restructure which has meant our employability programmes have been rather thin on the ground recently. However, as we enter the new financial year that is about to change. April 2019 sees the first of 2 Get Into Security programmes.

What is it?

Get Into Security is an exciting programme run by the Prince’s Trust in partnership with Rubicon aimed at providing young people with an opportunity to gain the skills and SIA qualification necessary to work within this busy industry.

Who Can apply?

The opportunity is open to any young person age 18-30,  who has an interest in working in the security industry and who would be able to maintain travel to Cardiff following the programme if offered employment. They should be comfortable in large crowds and have a good degree of personal confidence. It is also essential that they have the relevant documents for an enhanced DBS. Please note that anyone with a criminal conviction within the last 5 years is not eligible for the programme. (Speeding or carparking fines are not included in this restriction).

The Taster/ Selection Day

We are currently seeking suitable young people to attend a Get Into Security Taster/Selection Day on Tuesday 23rd April 2019 at Cardiff Marriot Hotel, Mill Lane, Cardiff, CF10 1EZfrom 10am – 4pm.

From the Taster Day, a number of young people will be selected to participate in the 2 week Get Into Security Programme  which runs from Thursday 25th April – Friday 10th May 2019 inclusive at Portland House, 113-116 Bute Street, Cardiff, CF10 5EQ from 9am – 5pm.

During this time they will gain skills and experience related to working in the private security sector, door supervisor skills, conflict management skills, physical intervention skills and an emergency first aid qualification. Although public transport travel costs and lunch are provided on the Taster Day and each day of the programme please note that lunch is NOT provided for the Taster Day.
