Young People and Homelessness

The new Housing Act 2015 will be examined in detail along with the Children Act 1989 and Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, to demonstrate how young people can be best empowered to deal with housing crisis and homelessness positively.
The Shelter Cymru course includes:
- Relevant homelessness legislation, statutory duties, and the Code of Guidance
- Working with young people, with a focus on homelessness prevention
- The duties owed towards young people
- The potential of the Children Act 1989
- Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 duties
This course is suitable for anyone who works with or advises young people and needs a clear understanding of their housing rights within the legislative framework of service provision.
No prior housing knowledge or experience is required.
