Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course participants should be able to:

• Define the different forms of abuse
• Analyse why individuals remain in an abusive relationship
• Describe the impact that substance misuse has to individuals in an abusive relationship
• Recognise the risks associated with individuals fleeing abusive situations where substance misuse is involved
• Recognise the impact that co-occurring parental substance and domestic abuse has on the family
• Identify appropriate referral pathways and service provision
