A one-day Children in Wales course
This course offers participants a broader understanding of how autism can impact on early development, play and social interaction. This deeper understanding can underpin positive and progressive relationships with autistic children. Strategies for promoting engagement, play and language development are explored, along with positive responses to behaviours found in autism that can challenge professionals and families. This course is for all those working with autistic children and their families who wish to deepen their understanding and enlarge their skills base with this cohort of children.
The course will cover:
– Current views on the nature and features of Autism
– Evidence-based approaches in play, social development, family well-being and behaviour
– Strategies to support communication and shared attention
