Wales Fuel Poverty Conference

11th February 2016

NEA Cymru Annual Conference – Looking to the Future: Warmer and Healthier Homes for All

Help shape the next Welsh Government’s priorities for action.

The theme of the 2016 conference, which is sponsored by Wales and West Utilities, is ‘Looking to the future: Warmer and Healthier Homes for All’ and will be taking place at a key time when we look ahead to the May elections to the National Assembly for Wales and discuss the key challenges and opportunities for the next Welsh Government to tackle our cold homes crisis.

We know that the cost and suffering caused by fuel poverty is likely to increase significantly in the future if we do nothing. So how do we reduce the pressure on overstretched NHS resources dealing with the consequences of cold-related illness? The conference will bring together representatives from a diverse range of organisations and sectors in Wales including the private, commercial, health and voluntary sectors to debate and explore the key actions needed to create warmer and healthier homes for people in Wales.

There will also be an opportunity to find out what is happening across the UK, looking at different schemes and approaches to tackling fuel poverty across the four nations.
