Conference Chair: Peter Davies, Sustainable Development Commissioner for Wales
Food has always been a defining characteristic of Wales, its economy and environment. Our food culture and the systems that support it also lie at the heart of some of the greatest challenges facing our country today, from an epidemic of obesity and diet-related ill-health to the ever-burgeoning threats of climate change and resource depletion.
With growing recognition of the central role food can play in our response to sustainable development, environment, planning and welfare reform legislation, as well as its vital role in creating jobs and prosperity, this one day conference will consider how Wales can become a truly sustainable food nation. Bringing together representatives from all key sectors, the event will explore the obstacles and opportunities for action, showcase innovation and promote a new level collaboration on healthy and sustainable food, from national policy to local practice.
Conference tickets are:
– £56 for IWA members
– £70 for non-members
– £95 for a conference place and 1 years IWA membership, which includes unlimited digital access to all IWA publications
