SUMMARY:Wales: a sustainable food nation conference
DESCRIPTION:In association with Cardiff University and The Waterloo Foundation\, and supported by Cardiff Food Council\, Soil Association\, Cynnal Cymru\, Organic Centre Wales\, Cardiff City Council\, Public Health Wales\, Welsh Local Government Association\, Cardiff Riverside Market\, Natural Resources Wales. \n   \nConference Chair: Peter Davies\, Sustainable Development Commissioner for Wales \n   \nFood has always been a defining characteristic of Wales\, its economy and environment. Our food culture and the systems that support it also lie at the heart of some of the greatest challenges facing our country today\, from an epidemic of obesity and diet-related ill-health to the ever-burgeoning threats of climate change and resource depletion. \nWith growing recognition of the central role food can play in our response to sustainable development\, environment\, planning and welfare reform legislation\, as well as its vital role in creating jobs and prosperity\, this one day conference will consider how Wales can become a truly sustainable food nation.
