Stoma Care Awareness

This Cardiff Council course is facilitated by Pip Chandler – Charter Healthcare Stoma Care Nurse Specialist.

The aim of the course is to introduce stoma care so that the audience get an understanding of:

– What a stoma is and why people have them.
– The basic practical care of a stoma, focusing on how to template and prepare stoma products.
– Look potential complications and when and how to seek help.

Target group: staff in direct social care roles – residential and domiciliary care.

A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to participants who attend the whole session. Refreshments will be provided on arrival but lunch will not be provided.

Registration and coffee from 9.30am.
