Reducing Home Accidents in Early Years – Effective Interventions
Every year in Wales, around 15,000 children under the age of 5 attend Emergency Departments as the result of an accident at home. These accidents often result in serious and disabling injuries and importantly, the majority of them are preventable.
This one-day Children in Wales course draws on research and evidence-based interventions to help practitioners understand and address preventable home accidents. The course will focus on preventing fatal, serious and disabling injuries.

What Will You Learn
At the end of the course, practitioners will have the skills and knowledge to identify who is most at risk, which interventions are effective in reducing home accident for the under 5s and how to go about it.
