Life story sessions for people living with dementia

21st December 2015 @ 1:30 am - 3:00 pm

Life Story sessions are aimed at people living with dementia working together with their partner, friend or family member to create their ‘life story.’ During the Alzheimer’s Society session, the person with dementia will have the opportunity to explore their life and record their memories in whatever format they choose.

There is a group fortnightly on a Monday afternoon in Cardiff. There is no cost associated with this group, however it is up to individuals to provide their own resources e.g. books, albums, boxes, etc.

Many people have told us that ‘Life Stories’ sounds interesting but have admitted that they are not exactly sure what to expect from the group. Therefore two members of the current life stories group have very kindly agreed to answer some questions about their experience and share their thoughts with us. Their interview can be found in the newsletter.

If you would like to find out more about the group and are unable to go along on December 21st, please contact Karen Edwards at the Alzheimer’s Society on (029) 2043 4964 or email [email protected]
