This Cardiff Council training course is for staff in social care roles i.e. residential and domiciliary care support workers, supervisors and managers.

Learning Outcomes

– Understand common forms of dementia.

– Understand the process of deterioration in dementia.

– Examine the prevalence rates of dementia in learning disabilities.

– Review assessment methods for dementia in learning disabilities.

– Understand Person Centred Dementia Care, tools and techniques.

– Understand communication methods used in dementia care.

A Certificate of Attendance and a workbook will be issued. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
