Vicarious trauma is inherent to humanitarian work. Sector workers in all roles (working with women, children and families) regularly hear distressing stories, and face the realities of domestic abuse / violence. This second-hand exposure to suffering and violence places the workers in this sector at high risk of experiencing some form of secondary traumatic stress response. This one-day Welsh Women’s Aid course is designed to provide a forum for workers to become more aware of vicarious trauma and its effects. It will provide workers with coping strategies on how best to deal with their workloads and cases.
Fee: £85 (member) / £120 (non-member)
