7th November 2017 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

Are you community resilient?

A definition of community resilience is given as: – Communities and individuals harnessing local resources and expertise to help themselves in an emergency, in a way that complements the response of the emergency services. C3SC in partnership with Cardiff Council are giving member organisations an opportunity to help you become more resilient, whereby you and your community can complement the work of local emergency responders and reduce the impact of an emergency on your community. You will have an opportunity you explore how Resilient Communities: –

  • Work in partnership with the emergency services, their local authority and other relevant organisations before, during and after an emergency.
  • Consist of resilient individuals who have taken steps to make their homes and families more resilient.
  • Use their existing skills, knowledge and resources to prepare for, and deal with, the consequences of emergencies or major incidents.
  • Have members who take an interest in their environment and act in the interest of the community.
