A one-day Children in Wales course

The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Bill 2016 is now at Stage 1 of the legislative process and will complement the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014 (SSWBWA). This one day course will support participants to explore this new piece of legislation in an interactive way. The aim is for participants to understand both the process of its development and its key components.

The training is suitable for a range of professionals who have an interest in either the practice and/or policy implications of this proposed bill. Training methods will include direct teaching, group work, individual work and action planning.

Specifically this course will provide:

  • An overview of the Bill’s key components
  • An understanding of its impact upon practice and its relationship with the SSWBWA
  • An understanding of its impact upon a range of stakeholders such as Service Providers, Service Users and Social Care Workers (including the prosed changes to the regulation of social care)
  • Participants with an understanding of the legislative process so that they can monitor its legislative progress through the National Assembly for Wales over the coming months
