Alcoholics Anonymous… Working with Others – for professionals in contact with people dependent on alcohol
This FREE event by Alcoholics Anonymous will be held at the invitation of Elin Jones AM.
The presentation aims to raise awareness amongst Assembly Members and invited professionals of what AA is (and is not), how they work and how they co-operate with health, judicial, social services, clergy and others to help alcoholics achieve and maintain sobriety.
With a track record over 77 years and available in more than 180 countries, millions of people have found recovery from alcoholism through AA. Feedback from guests at previous events which have taken place at the Welsh Assembly, Westminster and the Scottish Parliament has shown that they found the event informative and useful.
At this time of financial restraint, AMs and professionals may be interested to know that AA is a FREE and immediate resource to help those dependent on alcohol. AA is not allied with any religious or other organisation. Twelfth Step Facilitation is acknowledged by the NHS National Treatment Agency as ‘twice as effective for half the cost’ of alternative treatment pathways for alcohol dependent patients.
