Drop-In Sessions Set to Begin for the NHS Wales App Volunteer Scheme

We are excited to provide a update on our ongoing volunteer scheme, which is being piloted in partnership with the South-East Health Cluster and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This initiative aims to support individuals in accessing and utilizing the NHS Wales App, empowering communities to take an active role in managing their own health and well-being.
The scheme involves trained volunteers attending outreach drop-in sessions hosted at GP surgeries and community buildings. During these sessions, volunteers will provide one-to-one assistance to individuals, offering help with setting up NHS Wales App accounts, troubleshooting technical issues, and guiding users through the app’s features. Volunteers will also collect valuable feedback on user challenges, which will help improve the app’s functionality and accessibility over time.
Starting in January 2025, these drop-in sessions will be rolled out in several key locations. By providing direct, personalized support, we hope to bridge the gap between technology and healthcare access, ensuring that more people can take advantage of the app’s features, such as booking appointments, accessing health records, and receiving health advice.
This pilot scheme reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and addressing barriers to digital health resources. We believe this initiative will not only enhance digital confidence but also promote a stronger connection between individuals and their healthcare services.
As we move forward, we will monitor the impact of these sessions closely, with the aim of expanding and refining the programme based on feedback and outcomes. Stay tuned for further updates, and if you are interested in volunteering for this or similar initiatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at volunteer@c3sc.org.uk.
Together, we can build healthier, more empowered communities.
