Diverse Cymru Have Your Say events

Diverse Cymru works to ensure that the voices of people facing inequality are heard and represented to decision-makers in Cardiff and Wales.
We are running a series of Have Your Say events on different topics to get your experiences, views, and solutions.

 

Equality priorities – have your say

When: Thursday 17 January 2019
Registration and refreshments from 9:30 am
Starts at 10 am. Ends at 1 pm 
Where: Tiger Bay 3, Culture and Media Centre @ Loudoun, Plas Iona, Butetown, Cardiff, CF10 5HW

In 2019 to 2020 councils, health boards and other public sector organisations will be revising their Equality Objectives and Plans. We want to know what matters most to you. At this event you’ll have a chance to share your good and bad experiences of services, any barriers and your ideas around what councils, health boards and other public sector organisations should be focusing on.

Free event. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
We can repay your travel, access, childcare, replacement care and other reasonable costs for attending.

Mental health and wellbeing – have your say

When: Tuesday 12 February 2019
Registration and refreshments from 1:30 pm
Starts at 2 pm. Ends at 4:30 pm
Where: Taff Housing Conference Room, 307- 315 Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff, CF5 1JD

This have your say event is your opportunity to discuss what matters to you on mental health and wellbeing. This event focuses on the experiences of people facing inequality and any possible solutions. This event is part of the Cardiff Third Sector Equality and Human Rights Network and is being held in partnership with C3SC. We welcome community groups and third sector organisations as well as diverse individuals.

At the event you’ll have the chance to discuss your good and bad experiences of mental health and wellbeing services and community groups and suggest your solutions.

We’ll be discussing:
• Your experiences of mental health services
• What helps you maintain or improve your mental health
• What could be done in services and communities to better support people facing inequality

Who runs what in Wales? Community training event

Have you ever wondered whether it’s your Council, Welsh Government or UK Government who is in charge of collecting your waste, schools, health care, or immigration?
Have you wanted to get something changed, but not known who to talk to?
This free, interactive training event will answer these questions. This training is aimed at both community groups and third sector organisations and diverse individuals. This is part of the Cardiff Third Sector Equality and Human Rights Network, and is held in partnership with C3SC.
At this training you will:
• Learn what local councils, Welsh Government and UK Government run
• Learn how to work out who runs what
• Learn how you can reach the right people and make a difference

Save the date – March

We’re holding a Have Your Say event in March. We haven’t decided on the topic yet. Please put this date in your diaries. If you have any suggestions of topics you would like us to discuss please let us know.

When: Thursday 14 March 2019. 2.30 pm – 4 pm

Where: The Learning Suite (in the basement), Cardiff Story Museum, The Old Library, The Hayes, Cardiff, CF10 1BH
